Transformation

Transformation is an experimental dance film built around the movement of dancer Tomás Fernandes. Conceived and produced by Daniel Lathwesen and filmed at Comuna Studios in Lisbon, the piece moves between graphic red silhouettes, focused pools of light and bright, tactile body-paint imagery.

Visual approach

The cinematography shifts between hard graphic colour, isolated spot lighting and high-key white space. Close framing and expressive camera movement follow the choreography, while red body paint and the reflective costume create a visual progression from concealment to exposure.
